Technical
What about ageing, weight gain. All biometric systems should have a strong mechanism for updating enrollments.
Technical
this is not relevant for many organizations using Biometrics outside of Strong Authentication.
Technical
many verification systems do not require an identity at all, just that the same person who registered is the same person who can access it, e.g. Gym Locker.
This is often not possible with encrypted and/or match on device systems. The majority of commercial systems cannot ever perform this function.
Technical
liveness detection is often not practical for live/supervised enrollments due to the business impact of false poss errors
For large scale government systems this is often not practical or even possible.
